Sri Lanka to Improve Health Facilities for Tourists with Rs. 80 Million Investment

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed to improve health facilities in areas with limited health services, specifically for foreign tourists. The agreement was signed by the Ministry of Tourism, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), and the Ministry of Health. Significant Investment for Health Upgrades

A total of Rs. 80 million has been allocated for this initiative. Each of the four hospitals will receive Rs. 20 million to establish the new paying wards. This investment is aimed at improving the healthcare facilities in these areas, providing better services for tourists.

The MOU was signed yesterday at an official ceremony attended by Minister of Health Dr. Ramesh Pathirana and Minister of Tourism Harin Fernando. Both ministers expressed their excitement about the project and its potential to improve healthcare in tourist areas.
